This is the beginning of a very busy season for me.
Three boys.
Three football players.
Evening practices.
Early morning practices.
Tuesday games or Thursdays games for junior high.
Sunday afternoon games for youth tackle football.
Friday night lights at the high school.
Pretty much the story of my life from now
until the end of October.
until the end of October.
The weekend was Ian's first two scrimmages
at the annual YSF Football Jamboree.
at the annual YSF Football Jamboree.
4'9", 97 lbs.
Stocky and built like a tank.
Positions:
Offense 1 - Running Back
Defense 1: Free Safety
Defense 2: Defensive End
He had a great weekend.
Football is his one true love.
Wrestling he likes.
Football he loves.
Here's 49 second highlight trailer
I made for him from this weekend:
I made for him from this weekend:
He had a blast.
4 touchdowns.
Tackles up the wha-zoo.
His team looks really good this year.
They can pass AND they can run.
It should be an awesome year.
And his last year of youth football,
before he hits the big stage in junior high.
Kind of makes me sad.
It just seems like yesterday he was this little squirt:

3rd Grade/8 years old
And he looked like a bobble head doll in his helmet:
Ian is on the far left. His good friend and the QB, Luke, is 2nd from the right.
How quickly the years passed...
4th Grade/9 years old
And passed...
5th grade/10 years old
Until now I've got this big tough
6th grader on my hands...
And those two little boys...
are now big boys.
And still fast friends.
Running Back and Quarter Back.
Yin and Yang.
And even as big as they are, they still get tuckered out.
It's these little moments
that melt my heart.
And make me realize that even though he seems big,
and he thinks he's big, he'll always be my little man.
Dream Big,

Wow. The side by side pics really spell it out! Getting big. I hate when that happens. And it really sneaks up too. Even though you know it's happening. It still blind sides you. Austin is as big as Jim. He looks like a dang man. Kills me I tell you!!!! But handy as heck. That boy is strong :) We have great boys Laura. We are lucky moms!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy, relish, savor these moments! They go by too fast. Great post, Laura!
ReplyDeleteOh my...I got choked up...I hate seeing em grow up...Its so cute to see them in their little uniforms and all of the sudden they are little men.
ReplyDeleteWhat handsome boys you have...
It goes to fast..enjoy it!
Hugs,
Karin
