Be. Inspired.

One of my favorite bloggers, Shari from Turnstyle Vogue
always signs off each of her posts with:

Be Inspired.

I love it.

I really need to come up with my own little tagline,
but it eludes me.

Shari's is spot on.

Be.  Inspired.

I don't know about you, but often times, I'll go into a HL or J.A. Fab's and I'll come out with a ton of stuff that wasn't even on my list.

This happened a couple of weeks ago.

A single collection of items hung in an aisle had me thinking.

I just liked how it looked all hung together.

Have you seen Jim Holtz Idea-ology craft line?

Or the Spare Parts craft line by The Paper Studio

Love.

So I bought a bit of it and came home and thought about it.

Plus, the color theme of The Changing Season
this month is red.

I knew I had to come up with some kind of small craft in that color.

Since crafts really aren't my thing, it really takes a lot of thought.

This is me deep in thought...

Photo Courtesy of Miss Eva who was playing with my camera.
Wow.

Obviously, I'm not a happy thinker.

LOL!

Thinking in the chaos of our busy household can be difficult.

Usually the older three boys are getting into some kind of mischief
(Last week it was playing war INSIDE the house with unloaded air rifles that had me stopping to shoo them outside.)  Or Eva wants to show me something or Landon, seeing his sister playing with my camera, wants a picture of himself and Gabby (one of Miss Lucy's kittens), and how can you say no to his sweet little face?

I couldn't.

So sometimes I might have a thought, only to lose it.

Usually I try to block out the chaos, if I'm not retreating to the shop.

Which is how Eva got a hold of my camera in the first place.

Anyhoo...

I just spread it all out on the table, grabbed the canvas frames and some burlap, and some bits canvas fabric for good measure.

I made a nice little mess.

And just started laying stuff against each other.

It took some thinking and you know,
for blondes that's some hard work!

;)

Yes, I totally embrace my blonde-ness.

But in the end, this is what I came up with.

I do love the bright red of the game pieces and alphabet brads.

And as far as the rest of it...

Well, I had some scent sachets in
Warm Vanilla and Cinnamon that I had grabbed as well.

So, I thought...

Hmmmm...

Why not little rustic scent sachets?

No Sew.

Have I mentioned that I've fallen in love with Fabri-Tac?

Yeah.

I have.

Well worth the $12.99 a bottle.

And I'm getting pretty quick at it.

I give Miss Eva full credit for the tape measure loop on top.

Good job, Miss Priss!

I would have to say that this one is by far my favorite.

Too bad I came up with that idea last.

Isn't that just how it goes!

LOL!

They might not be the coolest thing ever, but they're pretty cute.

And ultimately, those little pieces of
frick and frack were not what those colors were leading me to create.

The next time something in a store catches your eye
and holds your attention, buy it.

What you felt is called inspiration and who knows what a few pieces of this and that might lead you to do...

So, take a cue from Shari and...

Be.  Inspired.

I love that alphabet board...Hopefully when the kids go back to school in Sept I will have time to play (hahahahahaha...You are a mom...there is never enough time) Next time I go to hobby lobby I am gonna just buy random stuff too and I can bet you 10 bucks it won't turn out as well as yours.
