I've never been a great one
about keeping my mouth shut about what I've been up to.
I just get too excited and want to share it with y'all!
:D
Besides, after 4 posts about what I'm doing or thinking about doing,
I figured it was time to stop talking and do a quick POPP -
Proof Of Progress Post.
Because I know y'all are like, "What is taking so long?!"
I feel ya, believe me!
So... Here's a sneak peek.
A quickie reminder in case you forgot...
{To my ever-living shame}
This is what her room looked like when I started.
Poor child.
{Hangs Head In Mortification.}
But, I'm proud to report that as of this morning:
1) Walls are done.
{Two Coats of Primer and 2 Coats of Paint.}
{Two Coats of Primer and 2 Coats of Paint.}
2) Trim is done.
{Two Cost of Primer and 2 Coats of Paints.}
{Two Cost of Primer and 2 Coats of Paints.}
3) 2 coats of primer are on the floor.
After Sweeping, Vacuuming, cleaning out the old caulk with -
I kid you NOT - a butter knife -
{Scott rolled his eyes at me for that one.
Men with their proper tools for everything.
I say, whatever works will do the job! LOL!}
more vacuuming, mopping, and then waiting for it to dry.
{Needs 2 Coats of Paint}

Anyhoo...
This is why I was dreading the floors...
(You might want to cover your eyes for this one
because it's the floor in all its... AHEM... Glory.)
Oh yeah.
Puuuuuuuurty.
WOO! HOO!
{Yes, My poor child lived with these for almost 2 years!}
Ugh.
But check out the wall color, huh?
Huh?
Huh?
Huh?
I ADORE it!
Not too bad for mixing it myself!
And here are the floors as they look right now...
I'm still waiting on that 2nd coat to dry -
should be about 30 minutes and
then I'll put on the first coat of paint.
I am getting so stinkin' excited!
And seeing it like this makes all the blisters on my palms worth it!
{And the back ache... Oh, Lord... The BACK ACHE! LOL!}
The floor paint has to wait 8 hours between coats,
so I'll be finishing up the rest of the pretties
I'm making for her room today.
The second coat will go on tonight,
with a 24 hour waiting period
before it can handle light traffic.
Unfortunately, this means that I won't be able to
reveal for a little longer.
:(
I know!
I'm so disappointed that I won't be able to show you
a completed room by tomorrow.
And probably not by Monday either.
I just don't want to take a chance of scratching the paint off,
after all that work!
But, I will have some smaller little peeks
as we gradually start to move furniture in,
so stay tuned!
We're almost there, y'all!
Thanks for keeping me motivated to keep at it -
especially Shari @ Turnstyle Vogue and Bliss @ Bliss Ranch.
What would I do without their daily kick in the... AHEM... Pants?
Slave Drivers, I tell ya!
I cannot wait until I can show everything to you guys!
Until then, I'm trying to be patient.
:D

You and I are soooo on the same wavelength, it's not even funny! The bottom 1/2 of Kate's room is going to be aqua. We just made some tissue paper flowers, and I am thinking about putting a chandelier up in her room...what are you doing for lighting...I'm dying to see the end result!
