Christmas 2011 {A Look Back}

I love Christmas!
Deck the halls with boughs of Holly

Fa La La La Laaaa

La Laaaa

La Laaaaa!

Not only do I love why we celebrate it

and

the greatest gift of all...

But...

I love the decorating.

Christmas trees...

Twinkly lights...

Presents...

And especially the children that are being really, really good because Santa is watching!

HA!

And I cannot wait to start pulling stuff out of the attic!

Because Scott will have a heart attack if I start decking the halls too early,
I decided to share with you some pictures from last year.

(And to try to feed my need to start jingling some bells!)

This year is going to be entirely different,
so it's neat to look back and see where I went with it last season.

This was our mantle last year.

I was all about warm tones,
with a more rustic feel.

And obviously the more twinkly lights, the better.

That part, I will probably never change.

Is there anything better than sitting in a quiet house,
looking at the lights?

I can remember my Mom and Dad just sitting in the living room together after they thought my brother and I were asleep.

(I would sneakily crawl down the hall and spy on them.)

And now Scott and I carry on the same tradition.

Our living room was more of the same...

Browns and wood tones.

Burgundy with gold touches.

Now that all the furniture
 has pretty much been refinished...

My colors are going to be a bit different this year.

But I do love this snowman out of grapevine wreaths!

I may just have to find a place for him somewhere.

I just love how cozy and warm it looked.

I bedecked every downstairs room of our house.

Just looking at these pictures
gets me excited for Christmas!

I wonder if Scott would notice if I start hanging the garlands next week?

LOL!

Hmmm....

Might be worth a try!

(I can just blame it on the blog.)

HA!

Dream Big,

  1. oh Laura, I am tired just thinking about how long this must have took. Even though I do the EXACT SAME THING! I don't know what it is..We only had the one Christmas tree and village scene and that was it growing up. Now Pretty much Every single room of my house has a tree...and garland...and decorations..LOL!! Can't wait to see what gorgeousness you come up with this year!
