No doubt about it, words are powerful.Words can uplift.
They can soothe.
Words can inspire.
They can calm.
I use a lot of words in the decorating of my house.
Making art for your walls is a great way to personalize your space.
And a budget friendly one too.
We all know I'm all about that!
My favorite thing to do is use old canvas or mass produced art
that I've bought and just paint over it.
The picture above, used to look like this:
I had stored it up in the attic and it got ruined by dust.
So, I just painted over it with white paint and repainted a new sign.
Now that's what I call recycling!
{Or being a super huge cheapskate, but whatever. LOL!}
The cow sign above it, used to be an old primitives sign that said,
"Live more, laugh often, love much."
The mustard and burgundy colors didn't fit with our house anymore,
so I painted it with something that did.
A plain pine board left over from some shelving
turned into a sign for our bathroom:
Lord knows, I'm not an artist,
but I can trace around stuff like you wouldn't believe!
LOL!
Like my "How Now Brown Cow" sign that I just moved
into the dining room yesterday...
And the "Farm Fresh Milk" Sign?
Old Barn wood scavenged from the shop...
And everything is traced on.
Even the cow.
Sharpie paint markers are da bomb!
Book pages for decorating are great!
Even I've been surprised that this Book Page Rosette Wreath
has lasted over a year.
Despite the door being flung open on it more than a few times!
LOL!
And I'm all about little reminders to keep things in perspective...
In fact, I'm pretty sure there's not a single room in our house
that you can't find some kind of Word Art.
Like in Eva's room...
Or in the Boys' room...
Or our room.
It's just such a great way to add a personal touch to any room.
How do you personalize your space and show your unique personality?
:D
