Sideboard/Gallery Wall {A Before & After}

Well, I'm back!

Did ya miss me?

I missed y'all!!

Really!

Surprisingly so.

It's amazing how much you all have become a part of my life!

Weird, but true.

However...

I have to admit that 2 weeks absolutely flew by!

And since I've been gone so long, today you get a two-fer.

Not really by design, but I can't show one without
showing the other, so two reveals in one day.
;)

Although I was tempted to just write a couple of posts, I managed to just write them in my head as I did things around the house.

Which, funnily enough wasn't near as much as I wanted to get accomplished.

Isn't that always how it is???

Basically it was just the boring stuff like...

Cleaning out and reorganizing kitchen cabinets.

I did laundry.
I matched every single pair of socks in the house.

7 People = A LOT of socks

I finally managed to snap a picture of Landon
who was excited to show off his school work...

But he still likes to hide in the linen closet upstairs
just as the bus reaches the end of the driveway.

Fun times!

I finally hung family pictures on a gallery wall,
some of which we had taken back in 2008.

But I never got around to replacing a paper "8"
with one made from black canvas:

I admit I once again used child slave labor to help lug 6 pieces of furniture into the house that I have deemed "keep-able".

Four of which went into the living room
that I rearranged and deep cleaned.

One of which I haven't found a space for yet.

And one of which went into the dining room... That I rearranged.

That piece was this sideboard:

A $35.00 (HOLLA!) auction find.

I am so glad I have two strong boys to help me with these things!!

Even if I did almost kill all three of us with an armoire.

HA HA HA!

But, they loved being able to drive the Yukon
back and forth to the workshop, with me walking beside it.

I thought it was a nice trade.

:)

Thank you Greyson and Ian!

***

I received my first shipment of
La Craie Paint and Waxes
via
Shannon from Fox Hollow Cottage.

Let me tell ya, she ships FAST.

Since I was slam out of white paint, I was pretty excited.

I ordered the Magnolia (white) and the Wrought Iron,
which is a true black.

Beautiful!

La Craie applies like a dream.

Super smooth and dries to a silky finish.

And the wax is the easiest to work with that I've found.

I am very impressed.

Not only did the paint apply smoothly,
it sanded like a dream.

I'm definitely a convert.

And I'm loving my new gallery wall.

Now, if I could only get Scott to help me finish trimming out the book shelf and put up the wainscoting, I'd be doing good.

And finding a lot more pieces to fill it.

I'm sure that will keep me busy for a while.

*sigh*

Oh well...

I can always...

Dream Big,

;)
