My Top 5 All-Time Favorite Furniture Makeovers

Hey Y'all!

Since I am spending a lot of time these days catching up on much needed rest...

In between cleaning the house from top to bottom...

Along with folding 6 weeks worth of clothing for 7 people...

{Hey, at least they kept them washed, so I'm not complaining! LOL!}

And I am doing NILL on the creativity scale...

{Which is driving me nuts because there are two pieces
out in the shop screaming my name for our bedroom!}

I thought that today, I would share
some of my favorite furniture makeovers with their befores and afters.

{Hopefully this will make me feel better that I haven't done
a single crafty thing in nearly 2 months!}

So, in no particular order, here they are...

MY TOP 5 ALL-TIME FAVORITE FURNITURE MAKEOVERS

I got this China Cabinet for a mere $60.

A week later, it looked like this:

Today, it resides in the Bridal Section of Photography By Christine
in downtown Waverly.

It looks perfect there, even though there are times I miss it.

She even had me paint a desk that she owned to match:

The chair...

It's in my bedroom.

:)

And then this one...

It was soooooo hard to let this go.

Now that we're beginning to contemplate redoing the upstairs  bathroom,
I'm REALLY wishing I had held on to this.

I got this antique oak dresser for $135 at an auction.

A little steep, but I HAD to have it.

Instead of painting it all, I left it natural in some places
and painted the rest with Annie Sloan's Old White.

I still look at this picture with longing.

LOL!

It is currently living in southern Iowa turned into a bathroom vanity
at the new owner's newly built house.

Next up, is another piece that I won at an auction.

$60.00 for a Card Catalogue!

Score!

It sat for a while in the shop, before I figured out what I wanted to do with it...

Now, it sits in my parlor, filled with all my crafting goodies.

This was one piece that I wasn't letting go.

:)

And this one, I just love because the colors make me smile.

Unfortunately, I was too rushed to take a before,
but you can see it peeking out from behind the yellow dresser...

I found this oak dresser at an auction for $35.00.

Today, this is Landon's dresser:

It's definitely a sunny spot in the room.

And rounding out my Top 5 Faves, is this weird,
the auctioneer didn't even know what it was, book case, storage thinga-ma-bob...

I won this for $75.00:

Today, it lives in my living room.

Another piece I was unable to sell.

And I use it to store my growing collection of white dishes:

It's a wee bit fuller than it was when I took this picture last year.

LOL!

I have a weakness for white dishes.

;)

And soooooo, that wraps it up!

Those are my top 5 favorites.

Today, my goal is to clean the upstairs bathroom and then tackle the "Boy Cave",
hoping I don't find anything that grosses me out too much.

6 weeks with no Momma around to clean it....

I'm Skeered.

But, it's important to get it done because
we're getting ready to do a switcheroo!

Despite opposition from...

(Ahem)  Scott

and

(Ahem) Ian

I have decided to switch our bedroom with the boys'.

Why neither of them can see that it makes more sense, since our room is the largest in the house and there's 4 of them and only 2 of us, I have no idea.

Thankfully, Greyson and Noah are 100% on board with the decision
and I can use their man-power while Scott is otherwise occupied.

He'll come home.

It'll be done.

And he'll get used to it.

Right?

LOL!

I KNOW I'm not the only woman who does this....

Better to ask forgiveness, than permission, right?

HA!

So, that's the next big project.

I get to turn this:

into a relaxing oasis for Scott and me.

I wonder how much primer THAT'S going to take???

And then this...

into a Boy Cave, although I think I'm going with a nice sedate gray on the walls this time.

LOL!

I'll keep ya posted!

:D

Until then...
